A new six hundred and sixty bedroom hotel with two level underground parking is being constructed adjacent to Heathrow, Terminal 4.
Enabling work started in the first quarter of 2014 making use of a brownfield site.
The site chosen for the hotel is crossed by gas mains, aviation fuel mains, high voltage electricity cables, telecommunication cables, fire mains and water mains.
Having been appointed as Project Manager by Heathrow we have to manage the design of the service diversion to ensure that they are fully coordinated and what is being proposed is compliant with the Heathrow standards.
Whilst the works are being carried out by others, we have to minimise the risk to airport operations whilst the works are being carried out to critical airport services.
It is critical that the communications between Heathrow, the developer and their contractor are robust and clear. Our Interface Manager works closely with all parties involved to ensure a safe delivery.
Scope of work and services:
• Project Management
• Construction Management
• Retail Delivery Management
• Programme Management
"Heathrow Commercial have worked with Hackpen Hill over the last three years on the Terminal 2 Programme, Heathrow, T5 Luxury Heathrow, T1 Decommissioning Heathrow and a number of smaller projects within our business as usual work streams for both retail and property.
On Terminal 2, Heathrow, their team of over twenty people managed the process from engagement with the concessionaires to final handover and commissioning. Their team worked seamlessly with Heathrow to deliver
the product we wanted, safely, to schedule and to the quality standards we had set.
From retail units to business lounges, back of house office and stores
and hotels, they can project manage the successful delivery of all
these facilities."
