Appointed on a Project Management basis we are managing the exit of stakeholders who are migrating from T1 into the new T2. These include retailers, Border Force and various airlines.
Careful planning has been required to liaise with multiple stakeholders who all have an interest in the closure of the terminal.
Over fifty retail outlets will close before year end, most of which are in an airside location.
Once the spaces are closed off with hoardings the concessionaires then have to strip the units back to shell and core. Logistics are then the key as the volumes of waste to be removed are significant.
Other stakeholders will be leaving before year end and the challenge here is to keep a fully functional terminal, albeit with much reduced passenger through put.
Whilst passenger numbers are low, the terminal remains operational until June 2014.
Value of works managed £10 million.

"I have worked with Noel and his team over the last 4 years and would not hesitate to recommend Hackpen Hill.
Over this period they worked closely with me and my team to successfully deliver some key retail projects at the airport such as the redevelopment of the retail in Terminal 3, Heathrow in 2010 and the recently completed all the retail in the Terminal 2 Programme at Heathrow.
Their strong values around customer satisfaction and commitment to delivering the desired end product on time make them a key component of any retail delivery team."
